Micah has been wanting a sandbox for a while, he loves playing in the sand at church and the little rocks that cover our yard just aren’t as fun. So when I received an email from Little Tikes about reviewing a Cozy Coupe sandbox (how I got the wagon too) I actually jumped out of my chair in happiness to go tell Peter. And when the box arrived at our house, Micah jumped for joy and we immediately loaded into the car to go buy sand before getting it up and playing for the rest of the day!
Little Tikes Cozy Coupe Sandbox
This awesome little toddler sandbox has simple assembly – just put on some stickers and snap in the “headlight-cheeks” and it’s ready to play. Oh, and fill it with sand. It technically holds 350 pounds of sand (wow!). We put in 200 pounds and it’s perfect. At about $5 for 50 pounds of sand, it’s not bad. There are little screws to hold on the eyes, but our screws didn’t even go into the eyes, so they’re useless. It doesn’t matter, the eyes stay on their own anyways.
The lid is lightweight enough for me to easy uncover and recover, even with baby on one arm, which is awesome. Micah (2) can even lift it and move it out of the way if I’m not close by to help him. I do wish it had some sort of latch system to hold it down, but we haven’t had any problems with the wind blowing it off yet, and it’s nice that Micah can get into it on his own when he’s outside.
Great Kid’s Sandbox
Micah adores his new sandbox. We like to park the Little Tikes wagon next to it, use the sandbox lid to create shade by setting it up against the wagon, and enjoy! Baby sits in the wagon with her toys, Micah plays in the sand, and I sit between or in the wagon to play with both! (or go in the house and clean with a window open so I can hear/see them).
