Obviously, there are many firsts when it comes to our babies, and first teeth and first night in their own cot are obvious ones. But there are many more first that we sometimes forget about, and really should record along the way. We all have cameras and filming equipment on our phones these days. So it’s easier than ever to document these firsts now.

Swimming
If you are an active family and love family time at the pool, then when your new baby arrives, it only seems fair to bring them along with you to the pool. Whether it’s an indoor or outdoor pool. The first step is to make sure you search for boys or girls swimwear, and ensure you have a swim nappy in your bag. Making sure that swimming is fun is the first step to encouraging your children to be confident in the water. You can sign up for swimming classes from a very young age at the moment, and this increases the baby’s enjoyment of the water. Just remember that babies can’t spend as long in the water without getting too cold. But many many families enjoy a regular swimming session with each other, and it’s usually the beginning of a lifelong love of swimming!
A Night At Grandparents
This milestone will be something that the grandparents will never forget; however, it can sometimes get lost in amongst the chaos. It’s important to remember to take some time out from being a parent, and if you have grandparents who love to spend time with the children, then you are lucky and should encourage this bond. Babies love going to their grandparent’s houses and being spoilt by them. So let your hair down, don’t feel guilty and know that the baby will be absolutely fine with your parents. This happens at various different ages, but before long, you’ll have a toddler begging to go to their house and visit.
Bike ride
Many families buy a child Seat for their bikes as soon as they know that a child is on the way. A bike enthusiast will know the best places and the best seats for children, and if not, will relish the idea of the research. Taking a bike ride in the fresh air and countryside is fantastic for children of all ages, and really helps them sleep. Many cyclists start searching for a seat for their bikes as soon as they know that a child is on the way. So as soon as allowed, it’s a good idea to start the bike seat search!
Every family is different, and even though these are some ideas about what some families do doesn’t mean it has to be right for you. Still, when you come across milestones, it’s always a good idea to document them, to look back on in years to come when your babies have grown up. Children love seeing photos of themselves growing up so get the record books out and start documenting!
