This year blogging wise has been a great change for me and my family!
I started out blogging on GrinningCheektoCheek.com a little over a year ago – but really started getting review and giveaways going up in January of 2011. Since then, I’ve at least quadrupled my readership and other followings – and have headed in a really fun direction that I thoroughly enjoy.
I’ve been looking into special ways of doing some web traffic analysis to make my blogging goals more clear. I came across A company called Omniture – they’re a part of Adobe and can be found online at omniture.com. I’m thinking about using them to define my online strategy to get my readership up and create better goals for the year.
Where I see myself going
I really want to get more details about my personal life in to the blogging spectrum, and not so much just about the products – but I also don’t want to drop the products completely. I love them. But at the same time I am really hoping to share the insight that I am gaining as far as being a mom of two young boys!! It’s a tough balance to achieve.
I’m thinking ahead as far as topics go as well! I’d love to get some insight from all of my lovely readers about what kinds of events you would love to see?
Help Me!!!
I’m thinking I need to do a Baby Shower Event, a Healthy Living event, Definitely a cleaning/organizing event… Pretty sure Jen and I are going to do the Birthday Boy Blast again! What else would you like to read more about!?
I’m looking forward to the next year of blogging, and getting some great products and opportunities to share with you all!

It is so hard to keep goals it seems when trying to balance housework, children, laundry and blogging. I wish you the best in the new year and I will be following along with You.

Totally get that.
Thanks 🙂 Glad you’re with me!!

I want to start blogging so badly!!! But I don’t even know where to begin. I love that bloggers do reviews/giveaways and I also love that they share their personal life as well – so you get to know them. A cleaning organization giveaway would be neat, I think; we could all use some help in that department lol.

Bianca – I’d be happy to chat with you more about it if you’re interested – It has been fun – but it’s a TON of work, and I almost never feel like I’m doing enough because I am trying to balance this life online with my home life.
I think I will do a cleaning/organization event of sorts – I def. need the help here. I’m thinking I need to review a few mops and vacuums… What else!?

I feel the same way about adding more personal stuff to my blogging, and it’s not easy trying to figure out what to write about and what to keep private. =) So fun getting to know you this year!

Right. you hit that nail on the head Mimi!! I’d love to share more of my personal personal life, but… At what point do I open a new blog and talk about my REALLY personal stuff, vs. putting it all out there on this one. I’ve got a heavy load mad (as I’m sure most women do.)
I’d love to find a way to make this blog more ‘REAL’ women, talking about their REAL issues. (or me. talking about MY real issues)
Not fluffy issues.

It is hard to keep a balance. I don’t blog but have been wanting to start one but can’t seem to find the time to do it. I am debating starting a family blog for friend and family and then possibly starting another if I can balance the one okay. Thank you for sharing everything you do! It is nice to hear that we all struggle with things time to time and it isn’t just me.

Thanks so much for this comment Beth – Blogs take a huge time commitment. I spend (too) many hours per day on this darn computer – and that plus balancing home life and chores and whatnot – its fun, but it’s got it’s drawbacks too! 😀
I keep wanting to open another blog as well. I’ve got several ideas in my head.
I agree. I need to find a way to make this blog MORE personal. More talking about my real struggles as a wife and a mom, so that more people understand that they’re not alone. Or so I can hear from my readers that *I’m* not alone!
Its hard to decide though (as Mimi commented just above here) what I should talk about vs. what should be kept offline. I’d love to share my whole life story, and marriage and kids and struggles, and be real. But – That’s OH so hard to share publicly – and hard to balance that on the same site as an uplifting product review type site as well!
Wow. long comment 😀 Sorry if I just bored you to death!
