Taking a trip to New York can be super fun, not to mention getting out of the house is always a real treat. There’s just so much to do in New York though; I didn’t know where to a start. However, I thought that if I were to take a trip, it would make sense to plan a little first.
New York just oozes excitement. It’s got some of the best restaurants, museums, and boutiques around, and a lot of naturally beautiful scenery to boot. There are also plenty of sites that aren’t to be missed. Below, are some of the ones I think would be great for a family adventure.
Check Out The Brooklyn Bridge
Easily one of the most notable and prettiest bridges you find in New York, the Brooklyn Bridge is quite an iconic structure. Walking across takes about 40 minutes, but delivers some of the best views you can expect of lower Manhattan. You can also opt to check out the Williamsburg bridge, which you may find is less crowded than the former and has fantastic views of the skyline.
Liberty And Ellis Island
For a lot of people moving over to America, the first thing they saw was the iconic silhouette of the Statue of Liberty. Coming over to Liberty Island via ferry might make you feel the same too! Ellis Island Museum of immigration charts a long history of those who moved over to the land of dreams all of those years ago, and paints a vivid picture with a whole host of photographs and artifacts.
Roam Around Central Park
Central Park combines the beauty of natural gardens and an urban surrounding in quite a unique and unusual way. The southern part is where a lot of people flock to first, but wherever you decide to go and hang out, you’ll be able to take in the scenery or have a perfect picnic on a lovely day.
Have Fun At Coney Island
Having its former glory over 100 years ago as one of the most notable seaside resorts, Coney Island is not what it once was, but still offers some great attractions for the whole family. The amusement park has been souped up, and a bunch of new restaurants (you know we love our food) and bars have appeared in order to keep things fresh. Plenty of larger-than-life characters give Coney Island its signature feel, particularly the circus sideshow and the New York Aquarium, which attract a whole bunch of visitors.
Catch A Broadway Show
It wouldn’t be New York with a Broadway show – the majority of the area around Times Square plays host to over three dozen theatres, specializing in wowing the senses. Shows range anywhere from some of the most sophisticated plays on stage with some of the biggest Hollywood stars to high-spirited musicals smaller in scale. Getting tickets ahead of time for some of the more popular shows is imperative, but there are some great sites you can check out for cheap Broadway tickets.
Catching A Vibe In New York
As it stands, New York is one of the most vibrant and exciting places to take a trip to. With so much stuff at your disposal to check out, it’s probably unlikely you’ll be able to get everything on one trip. We can’t wait to check out the city too!
