6 Things You’ll Need for Doing DIY In the New Year
The introduction of many gadgets over the last few years has meant that the tools kept in our toolboxes has changed significantly. The transition into the digital age has meant that many tools have been revolutionised since being introduced to the technology we have available to us today. Say goodbye to the manual tools of yesterday, and say hello to the technological tools of the future. So what things will we be using to do DIY in the new year?
Work Boots
One item we will still rely on for a bit of protection is the trusty work boot (Gear Hungry has a great selection on their site). Wearing this kind of boots will prevent foot injuries, twisted ankles and penetrations through the sole of your shoes by nails, screws, broken glass and much more. Although this type of footwear is typically only worn on building sites and in warehouses, it’s a good idea to get yourself a pair of these for any DIY work as some DIY projects warrant protective footwear.
Survival Axe Elite
This half axe, half oversized multi tool should come in very handy when doing your DIY tasks, especially outside in the garden. This tool is super strong and is able to cut through even the toughest of materials with ease. The head of the axe also spans as a bottle opener, can opener, hammer claw and head, pry bar, wire twist and a handful of hex socket wrenches so no matter what task you are doing, this tool is bound to come in handy.
Multi-Tool
An item that has slowly been crawling into our tool boxes is the Multi-Tool which you can get easily from Gear Hungry. As the name suggests, there are multiple different types of functions on the multi-tool such as Swiss army knives, plyers, bottle openers, a small saw, wire cutters, etc. Therefore, this small tool is able to help you out in many situations when doing DIY projects.
Cordless Drill
I bet there’s been many times you’ve been using your drill, but the cord has stopped you from doing the task in hand, meaning you’ve had to try and extend the lead using various extension leads. However, thanks to the cordless drill, cords are no longer a problem. Owning a cordless electric drill is very convenient as you can take it with you wherever you go and don’t need to worry about needed nearby plugs for it to work.
Flashlight
Although you probably already had this in your toolbox, a flashlight is a must have item to own. However, since entering the digital age, the use of technology in tools has really taken off and you can now buy rechargeable flashlights. Say goodbye to constantly having to change the batteries! Although you may have to spend a bit more than usual to get one of these flashlights, imagine just how much money you’ll save as you won’t need to buy replacement batteries all the time.
Screwdriver Set
Finally, the last must-have when doing DIY is a screwdriver set. You definitely need one of these in your toolbox because they are so handy and are used so frequently. Although you probably already have one of these, I recommend replacing that old set with a fresh new pack because who doesn’t love an upgrade.
