Ethan was born in November. Perfect timing for cold and flu season, right? We tried our best to stay away from it, but it’s tough. Sadly, Ethan did end up getting sick a few times.
I *hated* taking his temperature. Not only that – but He hated having his temperature taken, too.
Then one day, at the pediatricians office – the nurse showed to me and explained the concept of the temporal thermometer. They were literally ‘scanning’ his forehead with a temporal Thermometer for 3ish seconds, and had a perfectly accurate temperature.
Genius.
It takes just a few short seconds, and they hardly even realize what’s happening to them. It is totally the easiest way to take a baby’s temperature.
I knew it was the answer to all of my temperature-taking problems, and went to the store right away to find the Exergen Temporal Thermometer.
At around $35- It is definitely more expensive than the $7.99 cheap-o thermometers – but it’s proven accurate, and doesn’t bug the kids – or myself. – and THAT is worth a LOT.
I would *highly* recommend this thermometer for any parent!
I got in contact with the rep from Exergen, and am happy to say that I am able to give one away to a lucky reader!!
Win It!!!
One Lucky reader will receive an Exergen Temporal Thermometer! (ERV $35.00)

I hate waking my daughter up every time I check her temperature when she’s sick. When she has a fever I go in panic mode. It scares me to death that her temperature is going to rise quickly, so you can imagine how many times I check it. Plus, my friend told me the story of how her daughter became mentally handicap. Her daughter was staying with her father when she was just a baby. He got drunk and her daughter ran a fever so high that she almost passed away. Whenever her baby came back she was mentally handicap from her fever running so high. She said, “My daughter once was able to do everything on her own, but now I have to help her with everything.” It just broke my heart! Her daughter Ashley is such a beautiful person with her handicap or without it!
