If you’re still stumped for a holiday destination for this year then why not consider family holidays in Cyprus. Cyprus is unique in that it is geographically in Asia, but is part of the European Union. South of Turkey, both Turkey and Greece have occupied the Mediterranean island at various points in history, evident today by the use of both Turkish and Greek by residents here. As one of the largest islands in the Med, there are plenty of attractions for young and old alike. A great area for families is the Paphos region on the south west coast.
City breaks, beach breaks, adventure and activity holidays, or just a relaxing getaway can all be achieved in this beautiful region. For those travelling as a family a mix of all of these is ideal as everyone can do what they like most over the course of the holiday.
Paphos Zoo is a fantastic place to visit whilst staying in Cyprus. The zoo has over 1200 animals of 210 different species, many of them endangered or threatened. Unlike many zoos that can be found overseas, the animals here are exceptionally well looked after with great facilities and a top class veterinary team on hand to help out. The zoo is home to mammals, birds and reptiles and since its opening in 1993 has been used to educate residents and visitors of the importance of caring for our animal friends.
Paphos is also home to Super Aphrodite Waterpark, a great place for kids to blow off some steam on some huge water slides and play areas. This is the perfect place to spend a hot day cooling off in the water or just relaxing on a lounger while the kids run loose. A definite must for families holidaying in Cyprus.
Cyprus is a wonderful country with loads going on, and Paphos is a condensed version of this. Everything you could want or need exists in this region so why not book a Paphos holiday for the family today?
