Valentine’s Day is a great day to show your spouse how much you love them. It’s also a great day to show your kids an extra bit of love too! I have fond memories of getting a gift from my dad every Valentine’s Day, it was a sweet way for him to show us how special we are to him. So here are some suggestions for a fun gift for preschoolers and toddlers!
A Balloon
This is an easy one! Hit the Dollar Store and get a loving balloon! Use any of the other suggestions as a balloon weight for fun.
Snacks!
Give a special treat or snack that your kiddo enjoys but doesn’t often receive. Maybe some cookies, chocolate, or Paw Patrol fruit snacks!
Toys
A broad category, but think of a $ amount and shop a bit. Maybe they’ve been asking for a certain toy or are obsessed with a certain tv show character. Paw Patrol characters, baby dolls, toy cars, and little balls make great gifts. My daughter LOVES bath toys, so she’ll be excited about colorful and fun Nuby stacking boats as a little gift!
Stuffed Animal
As kids, our balloons always had Ty Beanie Babies attached. We were obsessed, so it was great. My daughter is obsessed with cats and bunnies, so she’s easy to shop for!
Time
Kids relish play time with their parents. Promise them a mommy-date or daddy-date and have some fun! Depending on their age and interests, it could be anything from 20 minutes playing legos, to a trip to taco bell, to a movie date.
Gel Window Clings
Seriously, my kids love these things. The gel clings stick much better than the plastic. They are easy to move too. Don’t stick them to walls though, sometimes the color transfers.
Hearts
I saw a cute idea where you write something nice about them on a heart and put it on their door every day in February. This doesn’t work great for kids who can’t read, so maybe a heart with a smile or a candy or a drawing that represents something you love about them. Be creative!
Email Them
Of course they don’t check their email yet. But, create them an account (make sure you write it down!). Then send them a note. Sends notes for holidays, special events, special memories, and more. Then, when they are old enough, give them the account and let them enjoy reading all the love and memories from the years.
Moms and dads, any other good ideas? Happy Valentine’s Day!
Nuby sent me the included bath boats. Opinions are 100% my own.
