I don’t consider myself an incredibly creative person. As much as I want to be able to create beautiful, unique, and memorable works, my brain can’t come up with the ideas. Once I see ideas, I find it really fun to try to recreate them, and add my own twists and personality. This led me to scrapbooking, where the possibilities are endless and I be as incredibly creative (or not) as I want. Recently I heard about MyPrintly.com and I’m so excited to try out new crafts and ideas!
MyPrintly.com
MyPrintly.com is a site full of crafty ideas and DIY projects on many skill and creativity levels. Surfing through the pages reminded me of my scrapbooking endeavors. I had an almost-finished scrapbook of Micah’s first year in the closet and an empty scrapbook waiting for Emersyn’s first year! Looking at other ideas was just the inspiration and motivation I needed to get to work on my scrapbooks!
Scrapbooking
Scrapbooking can actually be really simple. You don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars on supplies. When I was a teenager I used construction paper and clear presentation paper slip covers with ribbon to tie it all together. Or just create a single page to put in a frame or shadowbox for a great decoration or gift! Here are a few helpful hints:
- Use old calendars for decorative paper!
- Use greeting cards for pictures and quotes!
- Use little tape rollers (dispense tape like a whiteout roller) – it’s way easier and faster!
- Write down memories in a notebook, so when you go to scrapbook them you can write your notes and memories right into the scrapbook without having to think so hard to remember!
How to Get Started Scrapbooking (Short Video)
My first time ever trying a video….sorry it’s kind of rough!
Get Creative and #CMYK
Once I get caught up on my scrapbooking, I’m excited to try out more ideas from MyPrintly, com. Especially the popsicle stick puzzle! Micah would probably get some good entertainment from putting together simple picture puzzles, especially of grammy and grampy! I’m excited to CMYK (ready for the meaning?!? Create Memories You Keep!)
Or this super cute flower family bouquet! What a fun, kid-friendly Mother’s day gift for a any family!

I like Scrapbooking and think that My Printly could give me some creative ideas because I am not very creative. I will have to take a look at the site.

I love the family “bouquet”. A video on beginning scrap booking is a great idea also. Thanks for sharing!

I was always intrigued by scrapbooking but never really had the time to really pursue it. But I really love the idea of little crafts with pictures. The picture puzzle with popsicle sticks is awesome, and I bet my daughter would love putting one together. 🙂
