Grandparents are so special. Our boys who are 3 and 5 (almost 4 and 6!) are getting to the point where they finally understand that their grandparents are OUR parents! They really like the idea of seeing how our lives were when we were growing up – and they love spending time with their grandparents who adore them! We try as much as possible to enjoy family time together – but even better is having even just a little family vacation with the grandparents. We’ve taken several trips: All of which have made fantastic memories that will last a lifetime!
My favorite vacation with the grandparents has to be the year that my mother-in-law passed away. Se had cancer and we knew she wouldn’t be around much longer – but she really wanted to stay here at least until Andrew was born. She endured chemo and much pain to keep herself alive until he was born. Then we took one last family vacation to San Diego. I remember that vacation like yesterday – and I only wish that she was still around today to enjoy more time with her beloved grandbabies – she never did get to meet Ethan. – this photo was taken the day before she died. It was just minutes before she fell asleep for the last time – she had enough energy to give Andrew one more smile. These pictures are so precious to me. On a much more positive note: You, too can make great long-lasting memories by bringing your family on a vacation to the Kalahari. You never know how much longer you’ll have to make memories like these! The Kalahari is close enough to home to visit for a few days on a budget – yet, it’s a full resort in and of itself, so not a lot of planning is required. Grandparents can enjoy time in the water with the kiddos – or riding rides, and even giving mom and dad a chance to relax: maybe take a date to the bowling alley! Kalahari is one of our favorite ‘mini’ family vacations. We’re planning our next trip real soon – so when Ethan turns 4 he can finally go on the Go-Karts which he was unable to do before. If you’re looking to book your next family getaway – I’ve got a great booking deal for you! Simply visit this link to get to the Kalahari website – and enter Promo Code ‘MOMS’. We took my husband’s parents with us to Myrtle Beach, Disney World, and Pigeon Forge, TN. The kids really enjoyed that time with them.
