We are all moved into our new house! For a while it looked like the rental house vomited into the new house. It still kind of does, but things are slowly finding their places. We’ve done a lot of moving in the last year and I’m so ready to be settled into this house for the long run.
Tips for Moving While Pregnant
Don’t Overdo It!
This is the absolute most important and means weight and energy wise. Don’t lift boxes that are too heavy, don’t run yourself out of energy, drink plenty of water, spend time in the shade, and rest. Accept help and don’t stress yourself too much. Remember, you are growing a baby, so your body is already working hard, listen to the tiredness and soreness that’s telling you to take it easy.
Label Things
Your pregnant brain will most definitely forget which boxes hold what and where they go. So, keep a marker in your pocket and label boxes as you go. Your brain will forget but the marker won’t lie!
Essentials Box
There are things you NEED. Like, antacids and that perfect pillow, your vitamins and water bottle, and whatever else you can’t live a day without. Pack all those needs in one place, whether a bag or box, and pack that into the moving truck last. That way it comes out first and you know exactly where all those things are.
Pack Ahead
As soon as you know you are moving, start packing the things you don’t need. You won’t need your Christmas stuff in June and you won’t need your pre-pregnancy clothes, or all those baby things you’ve already collected, until after baby. Pack it up, label it, and now you are ahead a little!
Research the New Area
Especially if you are moving to a totally new town or state, know where the hospital is (just in case) and research what doctor you will switch to.
Give Yourself Time to Unpack
Unpack the important things first, leave the not-important things for those nesting days or further down the line. And don’t plan on moving in 2 days before baby is due. Baby might come early (or late) but your nesting mama brain is going to want way more time then that to make the house ready.
Eat Food!
Citrus fruits will give you more energy. Carbs will give you long lasting energy. Snack through the day to keep up your energy. And, if you can, pre-make and freeze meals so you have food at the new house right away.
Good luck! Moving while pregnant is easier than moving with a newborn, definitely, or even a toddler. Take it one thing at a time and you’ll make it.

Seems a little stressful to me, pregnant and having to move, that takes a lot of courage and strength to me. I really couldn’t image doing this. Great tips, especially the labeling one.

Thanks for the tips! We will be moving soon with an active toddler, so it should be interesting. I can see my son now asking, “Where are my ninja turtles?” 🙂

obviously like your web-site however you have to take a look at the spelling on several of your posts. Many of them are rife with spelling issues and I in finding it very bothersome to tell the truth on the other hand I will surely come back again.

With its callbacks to the Potter universe and a lovely eye for detail, The Crimes of Grindelwald has bags of intermittent charm and a warm familiarity. But too often, it feels like a beast that’s been overburdened. http://filmovie21.over-blog.com/2018/11/nezd-legendas-allatok-es-2-online.html

Thank you for the sensible critique. Me & my neighbor were just preparing to do a little research on this. We got a grab a book from our local library but I think I learned more from this post. I am very glad to see such magnificent information being shared freely out there.
