Pack ‘n Plays have been a core necessity of any family with young children that travels at all. Micah lived in our first Graco Pack ‘n Play for over a month when we first moved down here and used it every time we traveled until he learned to climb out of it about 2 months ago. I’ve always wished for a few improvements in it and now it’s here! The Graco Pack ‘n Play Playard Jetsetter has everything you could want in a travel playard/bed and then some.
Graco Pack ‘n Play Jetsetter: The Basics
The Graco Pack ‘n Play Playard Jetsetter is a Pack ‘n Play in that it is a portable bed, play area, and changing mat for infants and toddlers. After that, it gets more exciting. Not only is it slightly smaller than the average Pack ‘n Play (think length/width, but still big enough for a toddler to sleep in), it can easily be folded even with the infant netting in place for easier assembly/packing.
The infant bed easily zips into place, with one wire connection for the optional vibration, and 4 poles that form 2 crossbeams for support. Then the same pad fits sideways up into pockets to provide the bed and sides in the smaller upper portion of the Pack ‘n Play Jetsetter. Once I figured out how it went together, it’s easy to put in and take out. And you can simply reach through the middle of the netting to fold it all.
The Graco Pack ‘n Play Playard Jetsetter changing pad is a hard, folable take-along size changing pad with 3 giant pockets for diapers, wipes and more. it easily clips onto the side and folds out onto the infant bed for a wipe-able changing surface.
Graco Pack ‘n Play Playard Jetsetter: The Awesomeness
My favorite feature of the Graco Pack ‘n Play Playard Jetsetter: it has a canopy roof! Like a tent roof, the canopy fits over the release buttons on both sides then snaps on to the 4 corners. It’s fantastic. It’s solid enough it could actually physically trap my 2 year old inside (not recommending that, just saying).
It’s shade for outdoors, enclosure and security for nighttime, and privacy for public places. And it comes off and folds up backwards to pack into the carrying bag without harming it’s arch. I love it.
My second favorite feature is the carrying case for the Graco Pack ‘n Play Playard Jetsetter. It’s a backpack! It has the normal handle that all Pack ‘n Plays do, or a handle on the top, or backpack straps! It’s not the most comfortable thing in the world, but it’s way easier to wear as a backpack than carry, especially on long walks to hotel rooms or through airports with arms full of baby, baggage and diaper bag! PLUS the Graco Pack ‘n Play Jetsetter bag has 2 enormous pockets on the sides for fitting diapers, wipes, toys and whatever else you want to put in there.
AND everything that is part of the Graco Pack ‘n Play Playard Jetsetter actually fits in the bag. It’s a little iffy the first few times, to figure out how it all fits together right, so pay attention when you unpack it the first time. No more storing the changing pad and baby bassinet, it all fits together no problemo.
Graco Pack ‘n Play Playard Jetsetter: the Bad
Really, um, nothing. There aren’t a whole lot of color options, but that doesn’t even begin to outweigh the great features. it doesn’t have a separate fuzzy, cuddly bassinet piece, but that’s definitely not a necessity and most kid-toting travelers would leave it at home to save space and sanity anyways.
Graco is a reliable brand with high-quality products. I’ve never had a single problem with anything I’ve bought or reviewed for Graco and expect this will hold true as we use this Pack ‘n Play over the next years as well. They think of, and improve on, the little things that make all the difference.
