If you’ve lived in MN or visited MN for any period of time, you’re probably aware that the Minnesota State Fair is… Kind of a BIG deal around here (Like – 1.8 million attendee’s in 11 days, big)! There are so many things to do at the MN state fair and so many things that we seemingly do every single year and then never stop looking forward to the next year for the same opportunity. And of course we always take those fun pictures with our friends, family, and FOOD!
This year, Kemps is giving THREE lucky winners the opportunity of a life-time: to come back to the MN State Fair and re-create your favorite old photo of friends and family.
Even if friends or loved ones are now living out of state, Kemps will pay all expenses including airfare and accommodations so that a happy reunion can take place at the fair and you can re-create that old photo. Kemps will also supply the winners with a year’s supply of FREE ICE CREAM! You most certainly cannot go wrong with that!
One of my favorite old photos of my family at the State Fair is this one of Andrew as a baby. He was 9 months old and my mother-in-law had recently passed away, so we went with my father-in-law to the state fair. Andrew could not get enough of the motorcycles and tractors and got so excited while getting onto this Harley. We rarely captured a truly happy expression on his face when he was younger – he’s very observant of everything going on around him and quite serious sometimes – so having this super-smile on his face just makes me smile…. and who can resist that wacky-hair?!!! Not ME!
Our current MN State Fair experience always includes a stop at the tractors and motorcycles, getting a container of Sweet Martha’s Cookies and heading over to the milk station for the all-you-can-drink milk! Then of course we always make our way over to the dairy barn and get some ice cream.. still my hands-down favorite malt was a few years ago, with Strawberry Rhubarb flavored malt! YuM! Throw a corn-dog, cheese curds, mini-donuts and grilled sweet corn plus some extravagant item on-a-stick in there, and you’ve got yourself a perfect day!
So what the heck – Get those photos out of your past state-fair adventures, and submit it online to the Then & Now: Kemps State Fair Photo Contest by August 9th – for your chance to win!! What do you have to lose?
