It is Christmas Week!! If you’re like me, you’ve saved a few things for those last minute runs to the store! I think about all of the ‘big’ gifts for friends and family, but then when it comes closer to Christmas, I start thinking about the stockings! What on earth can I get that’s 1)Useful 2) Not Too Expensive 3)FITS into the stocking?
Well I have a great answer for that this year, Thanks to the Omnitech Mini Speaker Pod, exclusively sold at Staples! These Pods fit all three of my criterion for a stocking stuffer! They’re awesome, and very useful as a portable speaker, they retail at Staples for only $9.99 but sound much better than a $10 speaker, and they’re small enough to fit into a stocking! ๐
This speaker is awesome! It is compatible with iPods, PSPs, Computers, and anything else that has a regular 3.5mm headphone jack! Its small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, yet it is so powerful and has great sound quality! The speaker comes as a little pod, which is then expandable (by about an inch or so) to give you a little more depth to the sound.
The Omnitech Mini Speaker Pod has embedded lithium batteries that can be recharged using USB connection or USB power adapter. Right out of the package, I plugged it into my iPod and have been playing music now for 4 hours without even plugging it in once to charge, and the battery light has still not turned red, indicating that it is low.
Pros: I love the portable size of the speaker, it fits into a pocket or my purse. I love the quality of the sound, and how loud you can have it if you want it. I love that the USB and Headphone Jack cord are connected together, and especially love the Velcro tie that is attached for keeping the cord contained and not getting knotted up! I love that it has a rechargeable battery instead of store batteries. If I accidentally leave it on, I’m not out of any money on batteries! And its super cute!
Cons: I personally cannot think of any cons! The sound quality, battery life, portability, and price are amazing! I imagine to a musically trained ear, this may not compare to a larger, more expensive sound system. But then again, this is a portable device, that more than outshines any other portable speaker system I’ve owned!
This product has been featured in Redbook, Parents, Working Mother and Disney FamilyFun as a hot holiday gift item! You can buy this pod in either purple, pink, blue, green or black at Staples locations, or can order the black speaker pod on staples.com for $9.99! You can print this coupon (also found on staples.com or in their weekly ad) and bring it with you to the store for 10% off of any item!
Also Staples has a great deal for batteries going on!! Get 100% back on batteries with your Staples Rewards card on 20-packs of AA or AAA Duracell batteries through 1/1/11 – it’s like getting batteries for free and a great way to ensure all of the toys stay up and running. It seems as a mom to a busy toddler and now an infant, I am buying batteries every time I go to the store!! I’m always looking for a good deal on batteries!
