When I was in college at Winona State University, I had the pleasure of attending a college-aged church class led by Pastor Keith Carpenter. Before I graduated, though, he and others felt the calling to move to Seattle and start Epic Life Church to spread God’s love and word. Over the past 5 years they have been getting to know the people and building up a church body along with a strong outreach in the community.
Now they are working to raise funds to start Pilgrim Coffeehouse – a Coffeehouse with a strong others- and relationship-focus and old school values in an area called Aurora which is known for homelessness, sex trafficking and substance abuse.
Knowing Keith and the people that went with him to work for God in a hard area, I know the Pilgrim Coffeehouse would be a great place in fantastic hands. Please check it out online for more information and to learn about their fundraising efforts. If you have the financial ability or desire to contribute, every little bit helps! They are 1/3rd the way to their $80,000 goal and know God can do so much more with willing people in the next 23 days. And I know that prayer has more power than we can ever imagine, so please lift them up to God in prayer with me!
God calls us to help others, what better way than creating jobs and building a friendly environment in a harsh neighborhood?
