I would definitely consider myself to be tech savvy. But recently I’ve been having an issue with my iPhone: streaming music with Spotify and doing other things (like opening the camera app) at the same time! She walked me through getting to see which version of iOS I was running, (of course right then it completely dawned on me that I updated just before this problem was happening and I probably never updated Spotify after this! – WHY Didn’t I think of that?).
Within seconds she had looked up common issues with Spotify that had been reported and ways to fix them. She said with my version of iOS and the version of Spotify that I had been running, a few people had noted the same issue. So we updated, tested, and it worked! She gave me some other pointers in case if later the problem happens again, like uninstalling and re-installing the program all-together, as well as restarting the phone, and updating my version of iOS to the newest release. Her thoroughness was refreshing and not overwhelming or annoying at all. She didn’t speak to me like I had no idea what I was doing, but she didn’t leave me stranded if I wasn’t sure where to click next.
I also had her help me figure out printing to my wireless printer – since that was on the description on the Asurion website. I have a wireless printer, but I’ve never printed directly from my phone… I can do that???
She walked me through and we printed a photo a few seconds later. It was amazing!
I didn’t want to let her off the phone knowing that she can help me get the most out of my phone using settings that I don’t even know about!!
She reminded me that I can talk with her again, and not just about my phone and it’s capabilities – but my other devices around the home. Overall the phone call took about 8 minutes, and I had solved a major problem I was having for over a month and helped me figure out that I can, in fact, print from my phone!
