Strider Sport Balance Bike
Micah loves bikes. All bikes. When we go to the store and he sees bikes, he gets super excited and wants to ride them. He’s not quite 2 years old, so normal bikes are out of the question: he doesn’t know how to peddle and most bikes are too tall for his short toddler legs. The Strider Sport Balance Bike on the other hand is fantastic! It’s his size with tons of room for growth, teaches him to balance without training wheels, is safe and easy, and way more!
Strider Sport Balance Bike: The Good
The Strider Sport Balance Bike is awesome. No questions about that. Micah was so excited by seeing the picture on the box that he started to pull it open immediately and rode it in the living room since it was dark outside. The next morning he wouldn’t even change out of his pajamas before he ran outside to get his helmet and Strider bike. He is good at straddling it and walking, we encourage him to sit his rear end on the seat, which he will do for a minute then goes back to standing. Which is totally the natural progression and eventually he’ll be riding like a pro!
Strider Sport Balance Bike is safe: the aren’t any peddles, chains, kickstands or other objects sticking out to bump, trip on or otherwise get caught in. Plus it’s super lightweight, so Micah can easily control it and it doesn’t hurt him if he tips over.
The lightweight aspect also makes it really easy to tote, plus not having peddles or other appendages means it easily fits into my car trunk to take place with us.
Other awesome features of the Strider Balance Bike
-
The tires are a puncture-proof foam-type material, super tough and super lightweight.
-
It off-roads well so Micah can ride it in the rocks too. It’s a little harder to ride on our rocks than pavement, but doable.
-
Micah is learning to balance without depending on training wheels, which improves his muscles, coordination and confidence! Yay!
-
The Strider Sport Balance Bike seat and handlebars are fully adjustable, so it realistically works from 18 month to 5 years. And it comes with a second, bigger seat for when Micah has outgrown the height of the first seat. His current seat is about an inch above the minimum height, which makes me know it would have been short enough for him even a few months ago!
-
There are little grip footrest areas on each side for Micah to rest his feet on when he learns to coast. That’s a ways off, but great fore-thought!
-
The assembly of the Strider balance bike was also quick and easy, with an Allen wrench included to tighten the adjustable pieces on the handlebars and seat, which can then be easily opened, adjusted, and re-secured.
Strider Sport Balance Bike: The Bad
I could really only find one bad thing: the handlebars can easily rotate totally backwards, at which point it sits a little different but is actually still ride-able.
Strider Sport Balance Bike Review
Overall I love our Strider Sport Balance Bike. Amy’s boys also both have Strider balance bikes and they love them too! This would make a fantastic Christmas present for any toddler you know! Check out Strider bikes more online and on Facebook and Twitter!

I love that these handlebars are adjustable that is a bonus. It looks like he will be getting the hang of it pretty soon!
