It’s that time of the year where the nights and days are hot as each other. The sun is out and the clear blue sky doesn’t shield it’s gaze. Barbecue food is in full swing and it’s about time to make some sweet and spicy dishes. We all love a bit of spice now and again, and some of us more often. However, since it is so hot what level of chili should you include in your food? Come to think of it, what kind of food would be best with chili sauce? There are some foods that just aren’t dense enough to be eaten with chili. You wouldn’t put chili into a salad for example. The slenderness of the food is a downfall for chili. So without a doubt, you need foods that are succulent, fatty, juicy and dense. This shortens the list, but it’s probably the best list of food you’ll ever eat.
Vegetable and meat pizza
For the first kind of food, you should have with chili is a roast vegetable and meat pizza. Vegetables that are denser than others are going to be courgettes, tomatoes, onions, sweetcorn and bell peppers. You should roast these on the grill or in a frying pan with plenty of olive oil and rock or sea salt. Then you should use spicy Calabrese salami or spicy chorizo slices as the meat toppings. The infused spice is going to be ghost pepper sauce. This is a chili sauce that has a good fiery kick to it. But the consistency allows it to be absorbed by the base, crust, and toppings. It’s also a chili sauce that is a little sweet as well as it comes from the pepper group family and not just a pure chili.
Shallow fried nuggets
Chicken nuggets are everyone’s favorite. They are small, crunchy and juicy pieces of chicken that can be eaten as a snack or part of a meal. However, they go incredibly well with just about any kind of sauce. If you love BBQ sauce, mayonnaise, ranch, mustard or even garlic and herbs, nuggets are the perfect combination. However, you should make shallow fried chicken nuggets and smother them with chipotle sauce. This is a spicy sauce that again, comes from a South American pepper. The peppers are inherently twangy, they offer a slow gradual chili flavor. Brown in color, the consistency can be both thick or more liquid.
An American classic
A dish that has always been around but perhaps taken the backseat to macaroni and cheese, has been chili cheese French fries. You can learn how to make fries at home if you would like to add more flavor to them. However, just basic French fries cooked in the oven will do as well. Chilli cheese fries involves plenty of cayenne pepper but you can get cayenne pepper sauce as well. Monterey Jack cheese is the best choice as well.
