Tips for Finding a Perfect Mom Swimming Suit
If you are anything like me, your mom belly is just not the same as your pre-baby belly! And with warm weather here to stay for the summer, the beach and pool are my kids’ favorite destinations! So here are 5 tips on what to look for in a great mom swimming suit!
Use your Body Shape!
Different body shapes have different ideal swim suit styles. There are a variety of diagrams out there showing this, and some swimwear websites will let you search by specific body type. I love the Mazu Swimwear site it’s super easy to find their fit guide and shop by body type!
Pick a Modesty Level
You could wear a million dollar suit and still feel hate it if you are uncomfortable with the amount of skin showing. How much of your boobs, butt, or stomach do you want to show? Mazu swim has suits of varying coverage in sizes from 8 all the way to 24W so you don’t have to let your modesty level be determined by your size.
Go For Quality
As a mom, you are going to be spending a good amount of time sitting on the edge of the pool or in the sand. This can be hard on suit! So look for a suit that is going to survive more than 2 trips to the pool without getting a worn-down, saggy rear end. I’ve had trouble with cheap suits in the past and love that my Mazu swim suit feels higher quality! This is a swim suit that should survive the summer!
Belly Control
If you are hiding in your towel because you don’t want to show your belly, pick a suit with belly control! My Mazu skater-style suit has inconspicuous belly control! The front has two layers: the inner one snug against my belly and the outer one shirred for cuteness. It’s ok if you aren’t comfortable in a bikini yet, there are some super cute one piece suits out there too!
Think Flexibility
Kids don’t sit still, so you won’t either. Pick a suit that you can move quickly in without losing a strap or worse! This includes the way the cup pads are placed – if those pads easily fall out, move on!
Finally, this last tip doesn’t count because it’s obvious – pick a cute one! Everyone has different tastes, so pick colors and designs you enjoy. Use ruffles and bows to boost areas you want emphasize and dark colors to veil areas you want ignored.
I received a Mazu swimsuit to review in connection with this post. I love it and think you would too! Check out Mazu Swimwear for yourself online today!
