Not too long ago I shared with you all about my Mini-Kitchen Renovation. I certainly didn’t love the way our kitchen looked when we first bought the place – and have BIG dreams to update it some day… but meanwhile I get to figure out how to make what I have look the best!
One of my least favorite parts of the kitchen (besides the floors and cabinets that are falling apart) was the countertops. I *hated* that they were so light, and they picked up stain and showed every speck of dirt/food on them.
But I knew I couldn’t afford brand new countertops – and I certainly didn’t want to go through the trouble of replacing them with something else considering that eventually I plan on tearing the whole kitchen out and starting over!
So I painted them.
Yep! Painted my countertops!
Not with just any old paint – but with Giani Granite Paint. You can see the whole process in this post here, labeled, ‘I painted my Countertops!’.
They’ve held up great! There was one place that has chipped slightly because we dropped something really heavy from the cupboard onto the countertop – but it actually dented the counter, too… Otherwise, no chipping or flaking at all. I hardly even remember that my countertops where light before – they just look so normal to me!
Do you have a place in your house that has terrible counter tops that you would love to switch out for Granite, but don’t have the money for it?
